To your right is a Cultivate Wines brand-related site that we’re launching soon just in time for the holidays. The attention to detail on this project was paramount in executing the concept. We think it’s brilliant.



Make Smith™ is operated by Steven Soria, a third generation leather craftsman based in Santa Barbara, California.
We were approached to design a site that was classic, clean and functional in the purest sense. It needed to fit with Make Smith’s brand aesthetic and voice, a “desire to be innovative and new, while reflecting on design practices from the past.” With this in mind and stunning lifestyle photography, I think we nailed it.





Another stellar project completed. It’s called Cultivate Wines, and it’s a modern and classic brand, one that is quietly at the center of a crowd where like minded individuals naturally gravitate. Expression Engine CMS helps power the innovative for-profit non-profit business model. Launched August 2011.


It’s always a pleasure to be approached with a project that fits perfectly with our design aesthetic and credo. We Quit the Plain, based from Santa Cruz and Santa Barbara, California, is a lifestyle and surf culture brand that is timeless in it’s pursuit of life. Here, we went with an editorial/publication style layout that flows with WQTP’s philosophy of sharing stories and riding waves – a simple, but true love for the experience.
Technically, the website is fully manageable with WordPress and is a huge step up from their previous blog that lacked gusto and style.

South Africa’s Fable Wines has become one of the area’s fastest growing wine. The branding and design process became a beautiful synergy of client and designer. We worked hard and are proud of what was eventually created. We hear the wine is going to be real good! Launched July 2011.


In this project, Basic was hired to create a new identity and website for The Wonderlust Journal. We were in charge in the re-branding of the old Wonderlust “tumblr” style blog into a global digital and culture publication. We’re excited to not only see its growth but also its inspiring editorial posts. Enjoy.



I was asked by DRI’s project directors to design their official Haiti Earthquake Response presentation that would be used organization-wide and in the press. They needed something simple and easy to understand that would explain their organizations role in helping the victims of the earthquake and also what they’re doing currently to help the community as a whole. Using strong typography and custom infographics, this presentation turned out buttery.


Re-launched in collaboration with the great, Seth Epstein of The AVM and Groop. I’m honored to be working with such a creative on some upcoming projects.
